Worth Reading: Creating the Future, One Press Release at a Time

Russ White wrote a great blog post about our failure to predict the future. The part I love most:

If the definition of insanity is doing the same things over and over again, each time expecting different results, what does that say about the world of network engineering?

Enjoy!

  1. Thanks for sharing, specially liked the bit about rule 11 in RFC1925 and Ecclesiastes 1.

"Deep, heavy thoughts" indeed - but regarding predictability itself(as part of scientific method) - you can always "poke at the methodology and the ideology that underpins it" and all that remains could be:
“Naïveté is doing the same thing over and over, and always expecting the same result.” - particularly in network engineering.
